When it comes to straight faced comedy, you’d be pushed to find finer
Than the late Leslie Nielsen; the master of classic one-liners.
Born in February 1926, he sadly died yesterday
But he leaves us with the characters he so fabulously portrayed.
A veteran comic actor, he was aged 84
He started out acting seriously but gave us all so much more.
Surely we can’t be serious, but sadly we are;
We won’t call you Shirley, but simply a star!
Deadpan delivery that was timed to a tee
Saw Nielsen transition to the big screen from TV!
So adieu to the actor best known for Airline and The Naked Gun;
The legendary Leslie Nielsen will be remembered by everyone.
