It is with a heavy heart, on the 12th of October
That the nation is told, Claire Rayner’s life is over.
Agony aunt to many, and a legend in her own right
She was a dedicated woman, and the world has lost a light.
Claire, was born in 1931, and died today, aged 79
Her career spanned over many years; gaining an OBE in that time.
That was for services for health issues, and she was rightly praised;
She originally trained as a nurse in London, where she was born and raised
Faced with challenges in her life, she remained strong as can be;
Working tirelessly through her illness, to promote the charity.
A Wife, a mother and an inspiration, my thoughts go to her family today;
She may be gone, but never forgotten, and in your hearts she’ll always stay.
