The Brief
I am looking for an illustration to grace the cover of a collection of love poems.
My outline for the illustration brief is for a collection of 50 love poems – below are 8 of the titles. Artists are free to base their illustration on one of these concepts.

Attracting The One
Lips
The Seeds Of Love
Pleasure Land
Don’t Look Back
Artists do not need to worry about any text, unless they feel they really want to and feel it enhances the design.
If you do want to include text, then the title will be the concept they choose, Ms Moem is the author’s name and you can also write your name on it by saying ‘Cover Illustration by (name)’
Finished book size is approx 5inches by 8inches so text will have to be legible at that size, even if the original design isn’t.
My poems and rhymes are modern, bright and bouncy and I would like the illustration to reflect that.
Entries should be portrait. A landscape illustration will not make as much of a visual impact.
Entries will be accepted until midnight on Wednesday the 2nd of November. Winner to be announced on or by Friday the 5th of November.
Entrants will need to be submitted online and a high resolution copy must be available to be emailed to me on selection of the winner.

Prizes:
1st Prize Your illustration will be made into the cover of my book, for which you will be credited. You will be sent a copy of the book and you will also win a Majestic Box of pencils from Derwent (RRP £500!)
2nd Prize A copy of the book and a set of derwent colouring pencils.
3rd Prize A copy of the book & set of derwent sketching pencils.
There are no cash prize alternatives.
Entries should be drawn by hand in either pen or pencil and should include colour.
My decision is final and no correspondance will be entered into.
Entries entered after the closing date on the 2nd November 2011 will not be counted.
