Change The World

How can we change the world?
Change the way that things are?
What will it take?
What have we done so far?
Are we calling for kindness?
Are we leaning together?
Are we leaving a legacy
We’ll be proud of forever?
Do we care about others?
Do we try to understand?
Could we unite the globe?
Every place, every land
Every single last person,
All residents by birth.
It’s in our best interests
To cherish our earth.
So, what are we doing?
Will it ever be done?
Can we craft a better future
For the generations to come?
Can we nurture all spirits
Between ocean and sky?
Can we change the world?
We can certainly try.

L.I.P. (Live In Peace)

We are not soldiers.
Peace runs through our hearts.
Wars rage on regardless,
We need not take part.
Life can be a struggle;
a perpetual night
But the sun won’t rise quicker
If we choose to fight.
So let’s down our weapons
And open our arms
Become a safe haven
Of kindness and calm.
Life need not be a battle
Where we merely survive.
We wait to rest in peace;
We should live it while we’re alive.

You Deserve Kindness | Poem

You deserve kindness. I mean it. It’s true.
Yes, you deserve kindness, from me, and from you.
Be kind to yourself when you see your reflection.
There’s only one you, and no such thing as perfection.

Beware the inner critic who lives in your mind
and break free from its prison that holds you confined.
It might tell you you’re ugly, or stupid, or worse
but frankly, its outlook is simply perverse.

So be kind to yourself, and to others around;
Lift yourself up instead of putting yourself down.
You’re magnificent as you are, if you don’t know it yet
and you do deserve kindness. Please don’t ever forget.

Strength Not In Numbers, But In Yourself

Not every isolated soul
is looking for a saviour.
To see the proof, and silent truth,
just take a look at nature.
A single solitary flower
is as beautiful alone.
A meadow full is pleasurable
but each grows on its own.
Caterpillars are companionless
as they retire to their cocoons.
No-one near bears witness
And regardless, still they bloom.
With space and time
they become their best.
With grace, redefined,
just being, they are blessed.
