Scenes of devastation and innocent lives are lost;
Unite around the world, to give support at any cost.
Please help by donating, your pennies, cents and yen
Perhaps to make a difference to the affected women and men.
Ordinary people have had their whole life washed away;
Ruefully sifting the rubble, for their loved ones gone astray.
To keep on fighting forwards, what resilience it takes
Japan’s people shall not crumble, though the earth may forcefully shake.
As the world looks on in anguish, Japan shall rise once more;
Potent seas shall not erase all that has been worked for.
Any size donation is welcome, please give freely, it’s not much!
Never underestimate the power of giving; it has a healing touch.

Today is a celebration for women all around the world;
Ladies who’ve dared to dream big, ever since they were little girls.
For the diversity and talents that lie within a feminine heart;
For the courage and determination that prevents us falling apart.
We can raise families and build businesses and be proud of all we’ve achieved
Where once over, visions of that scale, could never have been believed.
Ladies, stand up and be counted, smile at how far we have come
And cherish every single day, whether daughter, wife, or mum.
Don’t let anybody tell you that there are set paths for you to follow
As a little girl with a dream, is an inspiring woman of tomorrow.
So celebrate all women, and acknowledge the great things they do
And tell a lady close to your heart, just how much she means to you.

A photoshoot was called for, to celebrate my illamasqua win
So I was styled and made-up beautifully before we could begin.
The red is deep and sensual, and deserves to be on show;
I was thrilled with the results, so see for yourself below!
Thanks go to Joyce of Brides And Beauty for giving me the opportunity to win such gorgeous make up!
BridesAndBeauty ran a competiton, though her skin and make-up blog
The prize was make-up by illamasqua; the collection known as Throb.
I sent my competition entry, and then dared not hope too much
But I was thrilled to find out that I’d won, when lovely Joyce got in touch.
Stop! This needs discussion;
It’s about the petrol prices.
They’re practically astronomical;
We’re heading towards a crisis.
It doesn’t seem that long ago
A litre was less than a pound.
It’s now somewhere around extortion;
The price we pay to get around.
The local effects are scary
And the national ones greater still
Pretty soon we’ll all need mortgages
To foot our petrol bills.
But seriously, what matters
As the fuel prices soar ever higher,
It’s added pressure to our budgets
When the economy’s already dire.
The cost of goods will have to rise
To factor in the fuel.
Say goodbye to exotic luxuries
And hello to bread and gruel.
We can all make little adjustments
To try to reduce our spends
Perhaps by combining mini journeys,
Accelerating gently, and anticipating the bends.
So try to maximise fuel economy
To minimise the hit to your bank
And drive slowly when visiting the petrol pump;
Brace yourself to fill up your tank!

Converse About The Verse
So tell me how you’re finding it!
Is your wallet starting to hurt?
Cheekily I’ll say ‘I’m alright Jack’;
It’s good not having to drive to work!
The air feels charged with energy,
You know the moment’s near.
Makes intentions felt and clear.
A quickening of your heart beat,
Desire to feel that touch.
Shallow breaths ignite you;
You want this oh so much.
You move a little closer,
Your eyelids semi-closed.
A flutter of your lashes
And your longing is exposed.
And then at last it happens.
Best described as bliss;
An electrical engagement – also known as….
Your first kiss.

The Boux Avenue Stores will be opening within weeks
So get ready to buy your lingerie & all of your boudoir treats!
Today on your birthday, I hope you feel like the only girl in the world;
Please don’t stop the music, because we love everything that you do, girl!
Te amo Rihanna, you have the most enviable figure
And with a truly worldwide audience, your fanbase can’t get any bigger!
We’d never be unfaithful to you, as long as you keep producing those hits;
Pon De Replay gave us the first show of your soulful Barbaden hips.
There was no russian roulette involved when you chose what would be your career
As you never fail to give us great new songs and videos, year upon year.
You don’t need to ask “What’s My Name” because everyone knows who you are;
I really don’t hate that I love you, because you are a genuine superstar!
When I listen to your amazing tunes Rihanna, I prefer to do it loud;
Your song list is simply glittering and you have every reason to be proud.
I presume there won’t be an SOS as you don’t need to be saved;
How does it feel, to know that at any given moment, your music is being played?
Does it give you a sense of disturbia, or are you just simply beaming?
I think it must be the latter as I would be dancing upon the ceiling!
I fall under the fan umbrella, which is why I wanted to write this for you;
From Shut Up and Drive to S & M, I love everything that you do!
You’re absolutely gorgeous and bursting at the seams with style
And I hope that on your special day this personal poem will make you smile.
You’re admired by so many people, and looked up to by everyone
So thank you for sharing your talent and your music from the sun.
Take a bow Rihanna – hope it’s the best birthday you’ve ever had
As the whole world sends birthday wishes to our favourite good girl gone bad.
Shining and flickering, an ethereal light;
A dancing green fairy, on the edge of the night.
A flare from the Sun with energy unspent
Plays out as Aurora in her final lament.
Purples and greens light up the Northern sky;
An elegant symphony played out for our eyes.
A mystical wonder, always destined to shine;
A gateway to another world, and perhaps another time.
Dance dear Aurora, like you’ve always shone
Crescendo-ing gaily until the sparkle is gone
And all that remains are the memories of your light;
Sleep well little fairy, until you return one night!
