A Grandma is a special girl; she’s seen more than you know.
She proudly held you when you were born & happily watched you grow.
She takes a genuine interest and she knits, and knits, and knits
And you’ll find that dear old Grandma, is someone you love to bits.
You’ll love her soft & rosy cheeks, and freshly set & permed hair.
You’ll love the roasts and tasty treats, she offers when you go there.
You’ll love to spend time chatting, just talking about how things were
And there’s a wealth of family knowledge that could only ever come from her.
There’s only lovely Grandma who could get away criticising your thighs.
Relishing being that honest age, her words come with a spark in her eyes.
With only the best intentions at heart, she has a cheeky grin
And there’s only lovely Grandma can get away with a daily gin.
She won’t take any nonsense, and she’s firm but fair to boot
But she really thinks the world of you, and that’s a lucky truth.
Not everyone has to care for you, but a Grandma always will
And when she is sadly no longer here, you’ll feel her love even still.
